Due to a rain out on Wednesday, the Chillicothe Paints had to change their opening-day game to the original home opener. Although the Paints are behind in the number of games played, they are not behind in wins.
The Paints hosted the Kokomo Jackrabbits and defeated them 2-1, Friday.
Kokomo out hit Chillicothe, 6-2, but the Paints scored 2 runs in the second inning thanks to a double by Jacob Gleason, a walk by Andrew Czech, a sac-fly by Michael Ryan, and a double by Drew DeVine.
The Paints were supported by shut down pitching by starting pitcher Zack Harvey, who gave up 4 hits and struck out 7 Jackrabbits.
The Cavs News Highlighted Player is second baseman Drew DeVine. DeVine had 1 double, 1 RBI, and a batting average of .333.
The Paints will finish out their series with Kokomo on Saturday and Sunday.
