Chillicothe High School softball remains #1 in the state for overall grade point average, regardless of division. On Tuesday, May 8th, the top 5 GPA's in the state were announced.

CHS continues its reign at #1 with a cumulative GPA of 4.385, with the next highest school having a 4.175 (Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy). '
This is the second year in a row that CHS has been named #1.
"As a coach, I'm just super proud. There isn't a girl on this team that doesn't perform on the field and off the field," said Coach Greg Phillips. "They know that what they're doing in the classroom and the education they are getting here at Chillicothe High School supersedes their softball careers."
Phillips said he looks to continue this tradition of being #1 for years to come and hopes those in younger grades knows that this is becoming an expectation.
"It sets the bar really high, and I hope it sends a message to the JV girls and girls coming out of middle school that yeah, this coach is crazy enough to actually look at GPAs," he said.
Rounding out the top 5 softball GPAs for the state of Ohio are:
