Local 150 Mile Race

One of the largest races in Southern Ohio will be taking place April 13-14. The Buck Fifty is a 150-mile relay race. Each team consists of ten runners, each runner taking on fifteen of the many miles. The first runner will be taking off from Ohio University-Chillicothe at around 2 p.m., Friday, and the last runner will be leaving at around 10 p.m., Friday.

Participants will be running throughout the night around the many areas of Ross County.
The first runner is estimated to arrive at OU-C around 3 p.m., Saturday.
This year's race will consist of almost eighty teams. These teams are not just local teams but national teams, coming from twenty one different states.
The Buck Fifty is a fundraiser for the local chapter of Drug Free Clubs of America, M.A.D.E. This organization consists of over two thousand local students.
Along with the Buck Fifty, the Bike Fifty will be going on at the same time.

The bikers have a choice of biking twenty five, sixty two or one hundred miles. The bikers doing the 100-mile race will be leaving at 8 a.m., Saturday, from OU-C. Riders for the 62-mile race will be leaving at 10 a.m., Saturday, and the riders for the 25-mile race will be leaving at noon. The Bike Fifty will also be going around to various areas of Ross County and the bikers are scheduled to arrive around the same time as the runners. The Bike Fifty is also a fundraiser for M.A.D.E.
