Stephen Hawking Passes Away

Stephen William Hawking, award-winning theoretical physicist, passed away at his home in Cambridge in the early hours of Wednesday, March 14, 2018.

At the age of 21, Hawking was diagnosed with ALS and given only two and a half years to live. Hawking lived to be 76-years-old and conducted research in cosmology, black holes, and relativity.

Eddie Redmayne, the actor who portrayed Hawking in the movie The Theory of Everything, spoke up about his death.

“We have lost a truly beautiful mind, an astonishing scientist and the funniest man I have ever had the pleasure to meet. My love and thoughts are with his extraordinary family,” he said.
