CHS/CMS Complex Placed Under Lockdown After "Potential Threat"
The Chillicothe High and Middle School complex was placed under a modified lockdown on Monday afternoon. According to a post on the Chilllicothe City School District’s official Facebook page, school officials were made aware of a potential threat to the school, resulting in the modified lockdown.
A modified lockdown is when students are still able to learn in their classrooms but are not allowed to leave their respective rooms nor transition to their next class even if the bell rings.
Students who were eating lunch in the CHS/CMS cafeteria during the time of the lockdown were moved to the middle school gymnasium.
School officials and local law enforcement officers reportedly investigated the potential threat, according to the CCSD social media Facebook page.
The lockdown was lifted approximately 25 minutes later and students proceeded to their 7th period classes.
