Local Cavalier Sports Update

In boys' basketball, last Tuesday, CHS senior Branden Maughmer led the Cavs to a 76-60 win over Vinton County, scoring 30 of those points. On the girls' side, CHS sent off three seniors: Kaia Evans, Daelyn Fry and Shawnee Smith. The Lady Cavs then went on and beat Jackson 59-13.

In bowling, both the boys and girls recently powered by Jackson, 2329 to1994 and 1607 to 1378, respectively.

Then, on Saturday, CHS bowlers competed in FAC action. The Cavalier’s junior Justin Wood had the team’s high game, with a 257. Lady Cavalier Taylor Orr, meanwhile, earned All-FAC honors.

In wrestling, the Cavaliers competed in the Frontier Athletic Conference Tournament, Saturday. The Cavs had two All-FAC wrestlers: Cole Maxson in the 220 weight class and Joseph Hilliard in the 170 weight class.
