Thanksgiving Holiday Traditions
A holiday tradition my family recently started is buying boxes of Pillsbury cinnamon rolls and the holiday sugar cookies and baking them throughout the week.
My mother and I box them up and take a 7-hour road trip to Michigan to visit the other half of my family to enjoy Thanksgiving. One year, the family enjoyed them so much that my relatives thought they were store bought asking, “Are you sure you didn’t buy these from Kroger and box them up?”
Another tradition we have is watching the annual Thanksgiving Day Detroit Lions game before we eat. What makes this tradition different is the family rule that says nobody is allowed to wear any form of Michigan State clothing or, as my uncle would put it “You would jinx the team.”
