Is Black Friday Really Dangerous?
Of course it depends on the location of the shopper, but, through personal experience, I can say that Black Friday is a lot different than what it is made out to be by pop culture.
I have been participating in Black Friday for the past five years and each year it is always the same with only a few variations. Here in Chillicothe, there aren't many ginormous mobs waiting to get into stores. Sure, there are lines, but they are, for the most, part civil. It is just crowded more than anything.
I have only seen a few fights over deals, but nothing too big. This year, in fact, people skipped in line to get a TV that I was in line for, so I waited a little longer and got an even better TV for the same price.
