Ross County Humane Society
The Ross County Humane Society has a variety of animals in need of a forever home.
When a dog is brought in to the Humane Society, they are checked for county dog tags and microchips. If a dog does not have identification, it is held for 72 hours to allow owners to reclaim their pet. Dogs with valid county tags and microchips are held for 14 days, according to the Humane Society's website.
If a dog is not claimed by the times given above, it is property of the Ross County Humane Society. If people wish to reclaim their pet after the 72 hours, they have to go through the standard adoption process.
Every dog in the shelter is checked for illness, vaccinated, dewormed, flea treated, and heartworm tested, according to the Humane Society's website.
