Unemployment Rates are Dropping
The number of Ohio’s unemployed has dropped slightly from August to September. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the jobless rate for Ohioans was 5.4 percent in August and has dropped to 5.3 percent in September.
Since last year the rates have increased. In September 2016, the number of unemployed Ohioans was 5.4 million. Last month, it increased to 5.5 million.
Ohio is well above the national average, which declined to 4.2 percent for September.
