Last Saturday, the Marching Cavaliers traveled to Athens with the hopes of qualifying for state competition. They, however, just missed out by scoring a II overall and taking second place in Class A behind Logan Elm.
The highlight of the band was drumline, which earned another I overall and challenged Logan Elm for best percussion in Class A.
Class AA band Hilliard Darby swept the overall competition awards in percussion, auxiliary, and general effect to become grand champions of the Athens Invitational.
Bands that earned a I rating overall and qualified for state include:
Hilliard Darby* (AA)
Groveport Madison (AA)
Logan Elm (A)
Bloom Carroll (B)
