CHS holds Fall Choral Concert

The Fall Choral Concert took place on Thursday, October 12th, in the

CHS/CMS auditorium. The show included a women’s piece (all the girls involved in the show), Chillicothe’s Sypmphonic, two special selections, concert choirs, men’s chorus (all boys in the show), and Cavalites.

The Woman’s Chorus performed Suo Gan (Welsh Lullaby) by Arr. Burrows. The student conductor of this piece was senior Savana Goshorn. On the flute, was Elizabeth Hawk of the sophomore class.

The Symphonic Choir performed Sing Dem Herrn by Praetorius, Kuimba Nafsi Yangu by Naverud, Caged Bird by Angelou/Hayes, and Equality, also by Angelou/Hayes. The soloist was senior Jaylenn Smith. They also performed Daemon Irrepit Callidus by Orban.

Two special selections were performed throughout the night. One was Moonlight Town by Adele, soloist being Haylee Hurff of the sophomore class. Junior Julian Villarreal was also featured as a soloist, performing I’m Yours by Jason Mraz.

The concert choir performed selections: And We Sing Gloria by Althouse, You’re My Best Friend by Arr. Langford, and Ning Wendete by Arr. Gilpin. Percussionists of Ning Wendete was Victoria Vivatoe of the junior class, Cressa Brier of the sophomore class, and Duncan Mathena of the sophomore class. The concert choirs also performed Who Lives, Who Dies, Who Tells Your Story (from “Hamilton”). Speakers of that selection were Kiara Shewalter of the sophomore class, Landen Case, of the freshman class, Bryanna Paugh, of the freshman class, and Katie Jones, of the junior class. Kayla Bryant, senior, spoke as Eliza.

The Men’s Chorus performed Make Them Hear You (from “Ragtime”) by Arr. Hayes. The student conductor of this selection was Seth Truman, of the junior class. Also, Nick Benson, of the senior class, was featured as a soloist.

The Cavalites closed the concert with their Hawaiian-themed show. They performed Hawaiian Roller Coaster Ride from the movie “Lilo and Stitch.” Soloists of this song were Samuel Jeffries, of the junior class. The surfers and swimmers were Payton Walsh, Haylee Hurff, and Dominic Nunziato of the sophomore class, Ella Cuzzolini, of the junior class, and senior Rebekah Corbin. The choir also performed Choral Medley from the movie “Moana." Soloist of Choral Medley was Keenah McKnight of the junior class. Cavalites performed Candle on the Water from the movie “Pete’s Dragon”, soloist being Payton Walsh of the sophomore class.

The choirs next perform on Tuesday, December 12th, at 7 p.m. The Cookie Walk will be held before the concert starting at 5:30 p.m.
